KNOW THE CODE
To enter certain doors, you must know the code. At the core of our mission is the awesome task of teaching and understanding the code.

Facts:
- Less than 10% of all black U.S. workers are in the tech industry (Mckinsey Institute)
- Only 8% of U.S. Latinto workers are in the tech industry (Salud America!)

The Need
Beyond the politics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), people from marginalized groups are needed to help solve community problems. While technology is not a panacea for all community issues, it provides an entry point and a framework to tackle critical deficits in many areas of concern.

Who We Need
- Professional coders and skilled college-level coders who are willing to donate instructional time, develop curriculum, and contribute ideas for implementation
- Interns (Details TBA)

From Knowledge to Application
One of the most important facets of the Community Coding Project experience is transferring knowledge and skills to application. While job placement is not a part of our program, when participants are ready, TCCP will recommend participants who complete the program to partners and donors who need their skills. We will help program participants register with freelance platforms. Believing that to whom much is given, much is required, the expectation (not a requirement) is that those who have completed the course will donate a portion of their time to help train and recruit new students.
